Russia-Ukraine War: Joe Biden Announces $800 Million In Fresh Military Aid For Ukraine

New Delhi: US President Joe Biden on Thursday announced a new $800 million military aid package for Ukraine facing Russian aggression, as reported by the news agency AFP.
This is similar to Biden's $800 million packages announced last week which included the heavy artillery and ammunition needed for the Ukrainian Army to counter the growing offensive in the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine.
"We’re in a critical window now of time where they’re going to set the stage for the next phase of this war,” Biden said as quoted by Reuters. The United States and allies are “moving as fast as possible” to provide Ukraine with the equipment and weapons it needs.
According to the reports of The Hill, Biden said the international response to get weapons to Ukraine, facilitated by the U.S., “is a significant reason why Ukraine is able to stop Russia from taking over their country so far.”
“Every American taxpayer, every member of our armed forces can be proud of the fact that our country’s generosity and the skill and service of our military helped arm and repel Russia’s aggression in Ukraine,” Biden said.

Netherlands Prime Minister Mark Rutte has also told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Netherlands will send more heavy weapons, including armored vehicles.
“I spoke today with Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte. Informed him about the current situation in the areas of hostilities and especially in Donbas. Expressed gratitude for the strong support for Ukraine. We coordinated the next steps needed to protect our state and freedom in Europe. Agreed to increase the supply of heavy weapons, including armored vehicles,” Zelensky said in his address.
