All eyes today will be on Lakhimpur Kheri as Rahul Gandhi and his five-member delegation team's permission to visit the violence-hit area has been denied by state authorities.
On Tuesday, much drama happened as UP Police issued an FIR against Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and mentioned that she and 10 other Congress leaders have been arrested.
Earlier, claims were that Priyanka Gandhi was only detained in the Sitapur guest house but FIR clearly states that she has been arrested and the guest house is her "temporary jail".
Many Congress leaders have reacted to the detention or the arrest of Priyanka Gandhi by UP Police with Navjot Singh Sidhu saying if the Congress leader is not released today then Punjab Congress will march towards Lakhimpur Kheri.
Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with the beneficiaries of SVAMITVA scheme in Madhya Pradesh at 12:30 PM via video conferencing. Prime Minister will also distribute e-property cards to 1,71,000 beneficiaries under the scheme on the occasion.
Meanwhile, it is also reported that a cabinet meeting will be chaired by PM Modi today. This cabinet meeting will be held at 10:30 AM. In the cabinet meeting to be held today under the chairmanship of PM, railway employees can get some good news before Navratri. Cabinet may decide to give a bonus of 78 days to railway employees. At the same time, approval can also be given to building a mega textile park.
In IPL 2021 today, Royal Challengers Bangalore will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad at Abu Dhabi.

Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi meet families of farmers Lovepreet Singh and Nachhatar Singh, who were killed in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence. Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi and Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel were also present. On Wednesday, the UP administration allowed Rahul and Priyanka to go to Lakhimpur Kheri.

"The BJP government has surpassed the atrocities committed by the British. Its minister of the state of home is threatening farmers to suppress their voice. Such tone and tenor should not be there in democracy," Akhilesh Yadav said while addressing a program at Sunaseer Nath Gurudwara.
