'LDF Betrayed Kerala For Few Pieces Of Gold': PM Modi During Rally In Kerala; Seeks Support For 'Metro Man' Sreedharan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday visited Kerala's Palakkad seeking support for the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Sreedharan, who recently joined the saffron party and will be contesting from Palakkad.

Days before elections on April 6, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held an election rally in Kerala's Palakkad seeking support for the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders in the upcoming assembly polls.

Addressing a public rally at around 11:30 AM, PM Modi said he has come with a vision that is refreshingly different from the current situation. "Today I have come among you to seek your blessings for the BJP in the upcoming state elections. I have come here with a vision that is refreshingly different from the current situation in Kerala," the Prime Minister said.

Slamming the UDF and LDF in the state, PM Modi noted that for many years, the worst kept secret of Kerala politics was the friendly agreement of UDF and LDF. Now, the first time voter of Kerala is asking — what is this match fixing? People are seeing how UDF & LDF misled them.

'Metro Man' E Sreedharan, who recently joined the BJP, is contesting from Palakkad. Hailing him for his contributions, the Prime Minister noted that Sreedharan has devoted himself to Kerala's progress and stood firm on his commitment to Kerala.

"Metroman Sreedharan Ji, a man who has done excellent work to make India modern& improve connectivity, a man admired by all sections of society, has devoted himself to Kerala's progress. As a true son of Kerala, he thought beyond power, stood firm on his commitment to Kerala," PM said.

Prime Minister Modi was in Kerala last on 14 February when he launched several developmental projects, including a petrochemical complex in the state.

The election for the 140-member Kerala Assembly will be held in a single phase on April 6 in over 40,771 polling stations. The BJP is contesting the election on 115 of the 140 seats in the southern state.
