Justice Amjad Ahtesham Sayed Takes Oath As Chief Justice Of Himachal Pradesh High Court
Justice Amjad Ahtesham Sayed has become the 27th Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court.
Justice Amjad Ahtesham Sayed Thursday took oath as the new chief justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court. Governor Rajendra Arlekar administered the oath of office to him at a ceremony in Raj Bhavan, Shimla. Chief Minister Jairam Thakur was present at the event, along with two state cabinet ministers, news agency ANI reported.
Justice Sayed was given a guard of Honor on his arrival on the high court premises, which was followed by a welcome address in the court of the chief justice.

Before being appointed the 27th Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court, Justice Sayed was posted at the Bombay High Court.
Born on January 21, 1961, he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in law from Bombay University in 1984. He has also served as the Assistant Government Pleader, Original Side, at the Bombay High Court.
On behalf of the Union of India and the state government, Justice Sayed has appeared in several public interest litigation cases involving mangroves, garbage dumping, free or discounted medical care for the needy in charitable hospitals, biomedical waste, and malnutrition.
Apart from Himachal Pradesh, the high courts of Uttarakhand, Telangana, Rajasthan, Guwahati and Delhi have also got new chief justices.
