It's A Baby Girl! Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Welcome Their Second Child

Britain's Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle has given birth to her second child, a baby girl, who she and husband Prince Harry have named after Queen Elizabeth and his late mother Princess Diana.

London: Britain's Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle has given birth to her second child, a baby girl, who she and husband Prince Harry have named after Queen Elizabeth and his late mother Princess Diana. 

According to Reuters, Meghan Markle gave birth to the daughter on Friday at the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California. However, Associated Press reported that a spokesperson for Prince Harry and Meghan informed on Sunday evening that the couple welcomed their child Lilibet "Lili" Diana Mountbatten-Windsor. 

The newborn's first name, Lilibet, is a nod to Her Majesty The Queen's nickname. Her middle name is in honor of her grandmother and Harry's mother. Their daughter weighed in at 7 lbs, 11 oz. No photos of the newborn or the Sussexes accompanied the announcement.

Harry and Meghan's second child, the fifth grandchild for Prince Charles, is the eighth in line to the throne, just behind Archie and Harry and following his Cambridge cousins, Prince George, 7, Princess Charlotte, 5, and Prince Louis, 2. 

The news comes after the duchess suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage last summer. In an emotional message, the former actress  had revealed that she had gone through a miscarriage in July. She shared the update in an opinion article for the New York Times, where she mentioned the feeling "an almost unbearable grief". 

Lately the couple have been under the media spotlight since they gave an explosive interview to U.S. chat show host Oprah Winfrey in February. The chat show become the most talked about across the globe as the couple accused one unnamed royal of making a racist remark and ignoring her pleas for help when she felt suicidal.
