Bengaluru Police Arrests Zomato Delivery Boy Who Assaulted Beauty Influencer

Zomato delivery boy who punched the beauty content creator in face was arrested by Bengaluru police.

Bengaluru: An Instagram beauty influencer took to social media and alleged that she was punched in the face by food delivery person from Zomato. In one of the inital videos she posted, she had a bloody nose, she claimed that she was punched in the face by the delivery person while arguing over late food delivery. The man was taken into by the Bengaluru police, after the woman registered a complaint with Bengaluru’s electronic police station.

According to Hitesha Chandranee, she placed a food order around through the Zomato app around 3.20 pm but when she didn’t receive the order even after an hour, she contacted support to cancel the order or asked them provide a refund. She claimed, while she was talking to customer service, the delivery person arrived but when she asked him to wait while she spoked to the customer service, he started abusing her.

“He started screaming at me, saying Am I a slave or what? You are asking me to wait here. It was really threatening for me. I tried to shut my door but he pushed the door, took my order from the table by entering my home, punched me in my face and ran away,” she said.

Later she posted a video from the hospital where she was treat and was told by the doctors that her nose was broken and that she'll need surgery after the swelling subsides. 
 
Zomato issued a statment in which they said that they have suspended the delivery boy and they'll provide complete support to the police to investigate the matter.

Chandranee said she has suffered a fracture to her nasal bone. “I was given high-power antibiotics and painkillers because of which I am able to talk... My eyes water and my nose bleed as soon as I start talking,” she added in the video.
