Youth rapes a 23-yr-old woman in Uttar Pradesh, held

Muzaffarnagar:  Another shocking incident of rape has been reported from Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh.  According to the police, the 23-year-old woman was raped by a youth when she was alone in her house at Simbhalka village in Shamli district. As per the complaint filed by the victim's father, she was alone in her house, when the accused, Vipin Kumar, entered inside and raped her. Police have arrested the accused and a case has been registered against him. This isn’t the first such incident reported from Muzaffarnagar in the past few days. A man was arrested on August 26 for allegedly raping and murdering a minor girl in Hasanpur village here. Accused Vinod Kumar took the 12-year-old girl to a nearby field on Wednesday night and raped her there and later strangulated her to death after she tried to raise alarm, circle Officer Sudhir Tomer said, adding the incident took place when the victim's family were celebrating marriage. Rape incidents have been mounting in the state as the 2017 Assembly elections are coming closer.
