Weather Update: Dense Fog Conditions To Blanket Over North India For Next 2 Days, Says IMD

New Delhi: Dense fog condition is likely to prevail for the next two days over the North and North Eastern states and West Bengal, Sikkim and Odisha for next 24 hours. “Dense Fog Conditions very likely in isolated/some parts in night/morning hours over Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, UP, north Rajasthan, Assam-Meghalaya and Nagaland-Manipur-Mizoram-Tripura during next 2 days and over West Bengal-Sikkim & Odisha during next 24 hrs,” said the Indian Meteorological Department.

For February 9, the MeT Department has forecasted “scattered to fairly widespread rainfall” over Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and north Rajasthan.
“Scattered to fairly widespread light/moderate rainfall very likely over West Bengal-Sikkim & Jharkhand and isolated rainfall likely over Bihar & Odisha on 09th & 10th February, 2022,” it added.
Under influence of an induced cyclonic circulation in the west, light rainfall/snowfall has been predicted over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, the MeT Department said.
“The induced cyclonic circulation lies over northeast Rajasthan & neighborhoods in lower tropospheric levels. Under its influence; isolated light rainfall/snowfall is likely over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh during next 24 hours,” forecasted the MeT Department.
Meanwhile, the weather improved on Tuesday in J&K and Ladakh as the IMD forecast light snowfall in higher reaches and cloudy sky in the plains during the next 24 hours.
IMD said light snowfall is likely to occur in the higher reaches of J&K and Ladakh while the sky would be generally cloudy in the plains during the next 24 hours.
