Weather Forecast For Sept 17, 2021: Uttarakhand, Parts Of UP Under Orange Alert As Heavy Rainfall Likely
The IMD has placed west Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand under an orange alert for Thursday.
New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy showers over east Uttar Pradesh on Friday.
The system is expected to track west-northwestwards and then gradually weaken for the next 48 hours.

Its influence is likely to trail over parts of northwest India, including Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, until Friday.
The IMD has placed west Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand under an orange alert for Thursday. The resident, as per the advisory, have been urged to ‘be prepared’ for rough weather.
Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow will witness partly cloudy skies with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers for the next two to three days, while the partly cloudy skies may be lit by flashes of thunder and lightning in Uttarakhand’s Dehradun.
Meanwhile, over the course of the 2021 monsoon season, both Uttarakhand (1072.8 mm) and Uttar Pradesh (632.5 mm) have been able to receive a ‘normal’ amount of rainfall as compared to their respective long-term average figures from June 1 to September 15, according to weather.com.

Incessant heavy rains across Uttar Pradesh over the past few days have been a cause for concern. Heavy rains have lashed Karwi, Raebareli, Lambhua, Pratapgarh, Prayagraj, Amethi, Raniganj, Ghazipur and Kanpur districts in the last 24 hours.
The hill state of Uttarakhand can also witness more downpours for the next few days.
