New Delhi: The pop star-turned-Islamic preacher Pakistan’s famous Junaid Jamshed was on board the ill-fated PK-661 flight that crashed today near Havelian while on its way to the national capital Islamabad. Jamshed (52), was a famous evangelist and a high-profile member of the Tablighi Jamaat, was returning from Chitral where he had gone for preaching-related work. Here are interesting facts about him: In 1987, Jamshed first gained nationwide prominence and international recognition as group 'Vital Signs' vocalist with the album, Vital Signs 1. In 1994, Jamshed released his debut solo album, Junaid of Vital Signs followed by Us Rah Par in 1999. In 2002, he released Dil Ki Baat. Junaid Jamshed, in 2004, left both his music careers and, since then, has focused on his religious activities for Islam and reciting nasheeds on TV. He also released them on CDs. Junaid Jamshed also owns a clothing boutique with the name "J." Jamshed, in November 2014, was accused of blasphemy and in December 2014, in a video message, he apologized for offending people and making mistakes.
