NEW DELHI: Heavy rains lashed parts of West Bengal even as a flood like situation emerged in Bankura district and adjoining areas due to rise in water level in Gandheswari river. According to Skymet Weather, In the last 24 hours, Bankura district has recorded 354 mm of rain. "Between 5.30 am and 8.30 am today, which is three hours, the city saw 239 mm of rainfall," the weather agency said. A video has emerged from Bankura showing a house collapsing and being washed away by flood waters following heavy downpour in the area. No loss of life, however, was reported in the incident. Also, many towns and streets were waterlogged resulting in traffic jam and anger among the people, who even blocked the roads at several places.
