“Today the Congress party has staged protests in the Raj Bhavan of every state. We demand an investigation into the Adani issue, said Congress MP Deepender Hooda.

New Delhi: Congress workers on Monday staged protests in various states against the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Centre over the Adani-Hindenburg issue. The first day of the state Budget Session in Uttarakhand and Chandigarh saw Congress workers raising flags and chanting slogans against the Centre.

Party workers in Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat also came out on streets to protest against the Centre over Adani-Hindenburg row.

“Today the Congress party has staged protests in the Raj Bhavan of every state. We demand an investigation into the Adani issue. Rahul Gandhi kept this issue in parliament and demanded a JPC,” said Congress MP Deepender Hooda.

The party along with other Opposition parties has been demanding a Joint Parliamentary Committee probe into the report on Adani Group by Hindenburg Research.

The issue caused uproar in the national capital also as the party demanded JPC.

Congress President and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge said that they demanded a Joint Parliamentary Committee on Adani issue and claimed that he was not allowed to speak “even for two minutes” in the House while Piyush Goyal was given 10 minutes to speak.

“PM Modi is running the government like a 'dictator' and BJP is talking of saving democracy, country's pride,” Kharge said.
