Violence by farmers spreads to MP's Shajapur, curfew imposed
New Delhi: Violence by protesting farmers spread to Shajapur in Madhya Pradesh where several vehicles were set ablaze and stones were pelted on police and sub divisional magistrate (SDM).
The SDM had to be admitted to the hospital following injuries. Curfew was imposed in the district to contain violence.
Certain media personnel were also attacked with their camera equipment being broken.
Agitated farmers also blocked National Highway 3 stalling traffic. Police fired tear gas shells and resorted to lathicharge.
Farmers in the region are also demanding a higher minimum support price (MSP) for their produce amongst other issues.
