'While Congress Has Always Neglected, PM Understands Your Pain': Amit Shah At Modi Samaj Convention

Amit Shah In Gujarat: The Union Home Minister stated that the Congress party has always ignored the OBC community. He claimed that the BJP is working for them.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Sunday at the national convention of the Modi community in Gujarat's Ahmedabad that the Congress party has always ignored the OBC community. He also claimed that it is the BJP that is working for them. Congress ruled the country for 56 years but did not develop them (OBC community), but PM Modi has worked for them for the past 9 years; PM comes from a poor family and understands their pain, he said.

It is to be noted that Shah's statement comes in the aftermath of the recent 'Modi surname row' controversy. Rahul Gandhi made a controversial statement during an election campaign rally in 2019.

His remark sparked a political debate and controversy, with Narendra Modi supporters accusing Rahul Gandhi of disrespecting the prime minister and his surname. Gandhi faced criticism and accusations of using derogatory language, while others claimed it was a misunderstanding and that his intention was not to insult Prime Minister Modi or his family name.

AMIT SHAH ON TWO-DAY VISIT TO HOME STATE:

Amit Shah is on a two-day visit to his home state. During his visit, he was scheduled to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for several projects, as well as attend events in Devbhumi Dwarka, Ahmedabad, and Gandhinagar.

On Saturday, Shah laid the groundwork for the National Academy of Coastal Policing's (NACP) permanent campus in Okha, Devbhumi Dwarka district.

NACP, the country's first national academy to train police forces in effective shoreline protection, began operations in 2018 on the campus of the Gujarat Fisheries Research Centre.

On the same day, Shah attended an event at which he distributed sports equipment to students at a primary school in Borij village, according to PTI, citing officials.

He also inaugurated and laid foundation stones for various development projects of the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation, as well as attended a cricket match hosted by the Gandhinagar (North) Assembly seat.

On Sunday, Shah inaugurated a modern organic testing laboratory of Amulfed Dairy in Gandhinagar and commissioned 320 buses of the state road transport corporation.

On the second day of his visit, he inaugurated a national Modi community convention in Ahmedabad. He is also set to open a gymnasium and library in the city's Naranpura ward, as well as a redeveloped lake in Ahmedabad's Chharodi village, according to a PTI report.
