Noida Twin Towers Demolition: Children, Elderly Advised To Wear Masks. Check Other Dos & Dont's For Locals

Twin Towers Demolition: The Centre has assured help to the Uttar Pradesh government ahead of the Supertech Twin Towers demolition in Noida’s Sector 93A on Sunday. Union forest and environment minister Bhupendra Yadav reviewed the situation with the state chief secretary DS Mishra and offered assistance in the demolition process of the nearly 100-metre tall twin tower, according to ABP News sources.

The twin towers- Apex and Ceyane will be razed to the ground at 2.30 pm today following a Supreme Court order. The Noida Jaypee flyover has been barricaded from both sides, and anti-smog guns have been made available to deal with the pollution situation. Incident Command Center has been set up on the Jaypee flyover and in-charge of Incident Command Center DCP Rajesh S. has been reviewing the situation ahead of the demolition, informed CEO Noida Authority Ritu Maheshwari.

After the demolition of the twin towers, water tankers, mechanical sweeping machines, and sweepers will be deployed for cleaning roads, sidewalks, central verges, and trees and plants in the affected areas to ensure environmental protection.

The state environment department has installed six dust sampler machines around the twin towers to assess the pollution level after the twin tower explosion. Some of these machines are also from private labs. A machine of Eco Pro Engineers from one such private labs has been installed on a terrace in front of the Supertech Society. The level of pollution will be recorded before the blast, during the blast and after the blast, technician Umesh Kumar told ABP News. The pollution levels pertaining to PM 10 and PM 2.5 will be analysed through the machine, and the report will be available the next day.

An advisory has been issued by the Gautam Buddh Nagar Chief Medical Officer mentioning signs of discomfort post-demolition and listing dos and dont's after the bulddozing of the building. These signs may include body aches, sensations in the eyes, nose, or face, and irregular heartbeat among others.

It also asked to watch for breathing issues, increasing heartbeat, running nose, stomach ache, and other signs. Among the dos and dont's mentioned are:

Keep doors and windows closed after the demolition.

Floors are to be mopped or cleaned by vacuum cleaner.

Bedsheets and pillow covers to be washed.

Washing hands and cleaning nails before consuming food and water.

Use a face mask and glasses to protect yourself.

What to avoid?

Avoid opening doors and windows for a few days after the demolition.

Don't eat without washing your hands and cleaning your nails.

Avoid eating from outside.

Don't bite nails with your teeth.

Try to avoid going out.
