Union Health Ministry has asked for the report on the alleged adulteration in the prasadam at the Tirumala temple, said Union Health Minister JP Nadda on Thursday.

The controversy started after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that animal fat was used by previous YSRCP government in the making of Tirupati Laddus.
"I spoke to Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu after getting information about this and took details from him. I have asked him to share the available report so that I can examine it. I will also speak to the state regulators and investigate this. Suitable action will be taken as per the food safety standards. As of now I have asked for the report and we will examine it," Nadda said.

However, YSRCP condemned the "heinous allegations" made by TDP for political advantage. Later, the TDP shared a lab report to substantiate their claims.
In the ghee samples sent for testing to National Dairy Development Board in Gujarat. According to TDP, the ghee had an S-value of only 19.7. They claimed that the presence of animal fat was an affront to Hindu religion.
On Tirupati Prasadam row, BJP MP GVL Narasimha Rao said, "Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu has made a revelation that there has been adulteration in the Prasadam of Tirupati temple. This is not an issue of accusation but has been revealed from a test report...The faith of all the devotees has been hurt. We want action should be taken against those responsible for this..."
