J&K: Three Armed Personnel, Pakistani LeT Terrorist Injured In Firing By Militants In Poonch
As per the official, Bhatta Durrian forest, of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir, was reported to be blistering with heavy firing and explosions this morning.
New Delhi: Three armed personnel along with a LeT terrorist were injured on Sunday as they were conducting a search operation in the Bhatta Durrian forest when militants opened fire on them, officials informed PTI.
As per the official, Bhatta Durrian forest, of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir, was reported to be blistering with heavy firing and explosions this morning. A massive search operation is being conducted by the armed forces in the Bhatta Durrian forest of Mendhar along with nearby forest areas adjoining Surankote (Poonch) and Thanamandi in the Rajouri district.
Nine armed personnel have sacrificed their lives during the separate ambushes conducted in Surankote and Mendhar on October 11 and 14, 2021.
"Zia Mustafa, a Pakistani LeT terrorist was taken to the Bhata Durian for identification of terrorist hideout during the ongoing operation in which three Army jawans and a JCO were martyred," an official communique by the Jammu and Kashmir Police was quoted by ANI in its report.
Zia Mustafa, a resident of Rawalakot in POK, has been imprisoned for the last 14 years in Kot Bhalwal jail. After investigations establishing his links with the hiding terrorists, he was shifted to Mendhar on police remand.
"During the search when the team approached the hideout, terrorists again opened fire on the joint team of police and Army personnel in which two policemen and an Army jawan sustained injuries," the J-K Police spokesperson was quoted by PTI in its report.
