“Changing Guard. Uttarakhand , Gujarat , Punjab. Age old saying: A stitch in time saves nine. Will it?” he wrote on the micro-blogging platform.
The expression “a stitch in time saves nine” means if you sort out a problem immediately it may save a lot of extra work later.
The Congress leader’s remarks came a day after Captain Amarinder Singh tendered his resignation as the chief minister months before the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections.
This came following months of infighting between him and Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) chief Navjot Singh Sidhu.
The chief ministers were recently replaced in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ruled states of Uttarakhand and Gujarat.

Earlier in July, Khatima MLA Pushkar Singh Dhami was sworn-in as 11th chief minister of Uttarakhand. This political development in the hill state took place after Tirath Singh Rawat resigned less than four months since he took oath as the chief minister of Uttarakhand.
Similarly, Bhupendra Patel was sworn-in as the 17th chief minister of Gujarat earlier this month. 59-year-old Patel, who represents Ahmedabad’s Ghatlodia constituency, took oath two days after Vijay Rupani resigned.
