The incident had taken place on July 15 but came to light on Monday when family members of the victim lodged a complaint with the Nanpur police station.

A youth in Bihar's Sitamarhi district was attacked for supporting suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma. The 23-year-old victim claims he was stabbed multiple times by four people for watching the video of the ex-BJP leader on Prophet Muhammad, that has created a huge controversy, reported ABP news.

The incident had taken place on July 15 but came to light on Monday when family members of the victim, identified as Ankit Kumar Jha lodged a complaint with the Nanpur police station.

The police, meanwhile say that the incident is not linked to Nupur Sharma but is a case involving fight between friends.

"It is not an incident related to Nupur Sharma but a few friends had collected at a chowk and an argument broke out over some issue that turned violent," said the police, as reported by ABP News.

After Jha was stabbed locals and passersby rushed him to the Sadar hospital where he narrated the incident to the police and revealed the names of accused, Gulab Rabbani alias Gora, Nehal, Behal and Helal. Jha was later referred to Darbhanga Medical College for better treatment.

Meanwhile two accused have been arrested and sent to judicial custody. Raids are underway to nab the two others, said the police as reported by ABP News.

The Supreme Court today is scheduled to hear the petition of former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma seeking revival of her plea for clubbing of FIRs lodged over her remarks on Prophet Muhammad and plea for bail on medical grounds
