Sidhu was invited by Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi to attend ground breaking ceremony of the proposed corridor on Wednesday.

New Delhi: Punjab cabinet Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu today crossed Attari-Wagah border to reach Pakistan to attend the ground-breaking ceremony of the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor on the other side. While talking to ABP News, Sidhu said that Pakistan PM Imran Khan fulfilled the promise he made three months ago and by the grace of Guru Nanak, the dream that seemed distant is going to turn into reality. He also praised the Government of India for taking the step in this direction. “The 71-year-long wait of thousands of people is finally coming to an end, ” Sidhu said. When questioned on the controversial hug to Pakistan Army Chief General Bajwa during his last visit to Pakistan for Imran Khan’s swearing in ceremony, Sidhu said: “For the love of Nanak I can bear anything and can go to any extent. I do not foster hatred for anyone.” Sidhu was invited by Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi to attend ground breaking ceremony of the proposed corridor on Wednesday, which would facilitate the passage of Sikh pilgrims to the significant Kartarpur Sahib Gurudwara located in Narowal district of Pakistan's Punjab . Sidhu who chose to visit Pakistan’s ground-breaking ceremony for the corridor, however skipped the foundation stone laying ceremony here by Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh citing that he is not in any credit war.  He did visit Dera Baba Nanak on Monday though, went to its 'darshan asthal' and had a glimpse of the Gurudwara Kartarpur Sahib, located about 4 kms from here through binoculars installed there for the purpose.
