Rishi Kapoor Death: Actor's Last Ever Tweet Is A Powerful Message To The Country Amid Coronavirus Crisis

Before he left for the heavenly abode, veteran actor Rishi Kapoor left a strong message to the nation to ponder over.

New Delhi: Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor died this morning in Mumbai. He was admitted to Shri HN Reliance Foundation hospital on Wednesday and was earlier diagnosed with cancer. But before his demise, the actor left a strong message for everyone to ponder over. In what turned out to be his last tweet posted on April 2, 2020, Kapoor appealed to everyone to refrain from attacking health professionals and the police during the coronavirus pandemic. ‘An appeal with folded hands to all brothers and sisters from all social status and faiths. Please don’t resort to violence, stone throwing or lynching. Doctors,Nurses,Medics, Policemen etc..are endangering their lives to save you. We have to win this Coronavirus war together. Please. Jai Hind!Flag of India’ There has been a string of attacks on health professionals across the country amidst the nationwide lockdown. One of the first ones was reported from Indore, Madhya Pradesh where medics were attacked by a mob of angry locals. In a shocking video that had gone viral, two healthcare workers dressed in light blue PPE (personal protective equipment) suits can be seen running from a small group of locals who are throwing stones. Also Watch: In another incident, 34-year-old doctor Dr. Sanjibani Panigrahi was harassed for being a medical professional and working with COVID-19 positive patients in Surat. She was ridiculed as a carrier of coronavirus and was also assaulted by a man. Yet again In Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh a mob pelted stones at an ambulance and a team of doctors.  The police have also been attacked in a similar manner especially when they go around checking for lockdown violators. Last week police personnel were injured by a mob in Godda district of Jharkhand when the team reached the area to ensure lockdown guidelines were being followed. Kapoor was clearly troubled by this news and had tweeted his concern. As the nation reels under the shock of the passing away of the iconic actor, his message is something to think about.
