Rajasthan: Stone Pelting On Police During Protest Over Killing Of Former BJP Councillor’s Son In Chittorgarh
Following the incident there was an outrage amongst people who first gathered at Subhash Chowk and protested outside the Kotwali. Protestors pelted stones on the police in Dhuncha Bazar area.
New Delhi: Incident of stone pelting on police was reported from Rajasthan’s Chittorgarh on Tuesday after son of former BJP councillor Jagdish Soni was killed during a scuffle between two groups, reported news agency ANI.
The deceased was identified as Ratan, a resident of Gandhinagar area of the city and son of former BJP councillor. As per the news agency citing reports, Ratan was attacked by some unknown assailants at Shivaji circle of the city in the late hours of Tuesday.
Following the incident there was an outrage amongst people who first gathered at Subhash Chowk and protested outside the Kotwali. Further, Chittorgarh MP Chandra Prakash Joshi and BJP MLA Chandrabhan Singh reached Kotwali and demanded the arrest of the culprits. Markets are closed in the city over the incident.
Situation further turned tense in the Dhuncha Bazar area of the city as protestors started pelting stones on the police.

“Section 144 has not been invoked and Internet services are not blocked in the area. RAC & STF deployed, and the situation is completely under control. Postmortem of the body to be conducted. Three people have been detained so far and an FIR was registered,” said Preeti Jain, SP Chittorgarh.
