Rajasthan Political Crisis: Ashok Gehlot Meets Governor Claiming To Have Support Of 102 MLAs
Rajasthan CM paid a courtesy visit to the Governor which came soon after two MLAs of the Bharatiya Tribal Party of India (BTP) extended support to the Gehlot-led Congress government in Rajasthan.
Jaipur: In what comes as a recent development in Rajasthan political crisis, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday evening reached the Raj Bhawan to meet Governor Kalraj Mishra and claimed to have support of as many as 102 MLAs. As per reports, Rajasthan CM a courtesy visit to the Governor which came soon after two MLAs of the Bharatiya Tribal Party of India (BTP) extended support to the Gehlot-led Congress government in Rajasthan.
Announcing the same, the Rajasthan CM took to Twitter and wrote: "Both the BTP MLAs announced their support to the government by meeting with their state executive officials and discussing their demand."
The two MLAs of BTP, in a joint press conference with state Congress chief Govind Singh Dotasara earlier in the day, announced their support to Gehlot-led government.
“BTP MLAs and their party leaders held discussions with the chief minister. They were already with us and have reassured their support to the Ashok Gehlot government,” Dotasara said at the press conference outside a hotel on the Delhi highway where the Congress has kept MLAs amid the political crisis. We have again held discussions with the chief minister on those demands and we have been assured that the demands will be fulfilled,” BBTP legislators Rajkumar Roat said. He said that the BTP president had issued a whip directing them to stay neutral but now the party is in support of the government. Roat, who recently issued two videos alleging that policemen were not allowing him to go from his Jaipur MLA residence to his constituency in Dungarpur district, said it happened due to misunderstanding by the police.
