'Apne Toh Apne Hote Hain': Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot Welcomes Sachin Pilot, 18 Rebel MLAs Ahead Of Assembly Session
The meeting of Congress Legislature Party is underway in Jaipur. As per the sources, Congress leader Sachin Pilot reached the residence of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in order to hold a meeting.
Jaipur: Calling it an end to the days-long political war between the two factions of the Congress-led Rajasthan government, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and sacked Deputy CM Sachin Pilot on Thursday faced each other 'warmly' during the Congress Legislature Party, ahead of the special session of the Rajasthan assembly starting tomorrow, August 14. As per the sources, Congress leader Sachin Pilot reached the residence of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in order to hold a meeting.
After meeting sacked deputy CM Sachin Pilot at the Congress Legislature Party meeting ahead of Friday's assembly session, CM Gehlot said that he would not have been as happy as he is now. "Apne toh apne hote hain" (dear ones always remain dear, no matter what), he added.
The duo who had been locked in a political tussle over majority and strength, reportedly shook hands today during the meeting in an attempt to portray the return of the sacked deputy chief minister and 18 other dissident MLAs to the party-fold.
News agency PTI reported that party leaders K C Venugopal, Avinash Pande, Randeep Surjewala, Ajay Maken and Govind Singh Dotasra were also there at the meeting, posing together for the cameras at Gehlot's official residence. MLAs loyal to the Pilot camp are also attending the meeting. Earlier, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot took to Twitter and wrote "Forgive and Forget" after Sachin Pilot and his camp's members returned to Jaipur. He said that saving democracy was priority and hence work had to be done hand in hand. ALSO READ | Breather For Indians! Pilot on Monday said that he has not demanded any post from the party.
