Former leader of the Opposition in Rajasthan Assembly, Congress party's Rameshwar Dudi (60) was admitted to a private hospital in Mansarovar after he suffered a brain haemorrhage.

Chairman of Rajasthan Agriculture Industries Development Board and Congress leader Rameshwar Dudi (60) was admitted to a private hospital in Mansarovar after he suffered a brain haemorrhage on Sunday. Dudi, who was also the leader of the opposition earlier, was later shifted to SMS Hospital on the advice of senior doctors of Sawai Mansingh Hospital, reported news agency IANS. Party leaders said Dudi’s surgery will be done at the hospital. His relatives said Dudi fell unconscious at home at around 9 AM and was later rushed to the Mangalam Hospital in Mansarovar.

Earlier on Sunday morning, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also reached Mansarovar Hospital to see Dudi, who is currently on a ventilator, to inquire about his health from the doctors and Dudi's family members present there. After his arrival, a team of top doctors was called in from Rajasthan to take care of the patient.

In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), Ashok Gehlot said, “I reached Manglam Medicity Hospital in Jaipur immediately after receiving the news of Rameshwar Lal Dudi, a senior and respected member of the Congress family suffering a sudden brain haemorrhage. I wish you a speedy recovery.”

Meanwhile, hundreds of his supporters have already left for Jaipur after receiving the information about Dudi's ill health, reported IANS. Dudi’s supporters are praying for his speedy recovery, who has also been MLA from Nokha.

He was also the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly from 2013 to 2018 and is counted among the strong leaders of the Congress in the state. His ancestral house is in Biramsar village of Nokha.
