Large parts of India continue to battle flood and waterlogging situations as rain continues to lash the states of Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Odisha, Gujarat, Assam, Telangana, and Delhi. Huge losses of lives and property have also been reported. Several states have also been witnessing repeated instances of landslides and rockslides.
The water level in Yamuna in the national capital which was recorded by the Central Water Commission at 6 am stood at 205.39 metres. As of now, the river is showing a downward trend, however, it still continues to flow above the danger mark. The Central Water Commission's (CWC) data showed the water level reached 205.34 metres at 6 pm on Friday.
In Odisha, at least three people were left injured and seven houses were damaged in rain-related incidents on Friday. Road connectivity to Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Telangana also took a hit and needed some time as NH 316 near Motu in Malkangiri district got submerged under water. However, the connectivity was later restored as the water receded, reported PTI.
Water logging was reported in various parts of Telangana including its capital. Several roads were also damaged on Friday following the incessant downpours in the last three days. Some residential localities at Gajularamaram, Rajendranagar witnessed flood and the Hussain Sagar lake was filled to the brim. Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner Ronald Ross, who visited rain-hit areas asked field-level officials to be alert, reported PTI.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of heavy to extremely heavy rains in isolated places in the ghat (hilly) areas of Pune district, Konkan and Madhya Maharashtra on Saturday.
The flood situation in the Sivasagar district of Assam remains to be critical as nearly 18,000 people have been affected by the deluge there. According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), 54 villages under two revenue circles (Nazira and Sivsagar) are currently flooded with the water levels of two rivers of the district — Disang and Dikhou, flowing above the danger level mark.

Maha Landslide: NDRF Calls Off Operation, Toll Stays At 27
The National Disaster Response Force has finally called of its search-and-rescue operation in Wednesday's landslide in Irshalwadi in Maharashtra's Raigad district, state minister Uday Samant said on Sunday. Addressing a press conference, Samant, who is guardian minister of Raigad, said the decision was taken in consultation with the district administration and other concerned authorities as well as local residents. So far, 27 bodies have been recovered while 57 are untraceable, officials said, adding that no body was found from the debris on Sunday. These include 12 men, 10 women and four children, while one corpse has not been identified as yet, they added.
