Rahul Gandhi may become Congress President after Monsoon Session of Parliament: Sources

New Delhi: Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi may be promoted after monsoon session of Parliament ends. According to sources, Rahul Gandhi could be made the President of Congress party. Congress has told Election Commission that party will conduct organizational elections this year. Speculations are rife that Sonia Gandhi will relinquish her post of party president. It must be noted that Congress President Sonia Gandhi remains unwell. Many party workers and leaders demand that the Congress Vice-President should be handed the baton of leadership. Congress currently has the least number of MPs. Party is constantly losing state elections across India for the past two years. Next year, the party is going to enter yet another electoral battle in UP. The party has the pressure to  perform well in UP and Punjab next year.
