As per the media reports, the Congress leader will be participating in the three programmes scheduled for today at Wayanad. He is likely to stay back in Kozhikode today and will leave for New Delhi on Thursday.
The tussle within the Congress party began after K Sudhakaran was appointed as the state Pradesh Congress Committee chief. Sudhakaran as a leader comes from the communist heartland of Kannur.
Apart from this, the Leader of the Opposition VD Satheesan sideline two powerful blocs led by former CM Oommen Chandy and senior leader Ramesh Chennithala has lit a fire within the state congress party unit.
On Monday, Congress leader V.M.Sudheeran resigned from the All India Congress Committee (AICC). He gave his resignation letter to Sonia Gandhi. Earlier last week, Sudheeran had also resigned from the KPCC’s Political Affairs Committee (PAC). He hasn't yet given a reason behind his decision of giving up the two key positions within the party in such quick succession. The whole episode of Sudheeran resignation has sparked a fire that he may not be happy with the functioning of new PCC chief K Sudhakaran and opposition leader VD Satheesan.
Meantime, the fire has also broken out in Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee since Navjot Singh Sindhu has given his resignation from the position of the Punjab PCC Chief. "The collapse of a man's character stems from the compromise corner. I can never compromise on Punjab's future and the agenda for the welfare of Punjab. Therefore, I hereby resign as the President of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee. I will continue to serve the Congress," Sidhu writes in his resignation letter addressed to Sonia Gandhi. The Punjab CM has also held a cabinet meeting at 10:30 am in which ways to convince Sidhu to not resign from his post were discussed as the high command has not accepted his resignation yet.
