Rahul Gandhi Hits 10 Million Twitter Followers; To Celebrate Milestone In Amethi
Rahul Gandhi will visit Amethi today for the first time after losing the parliamentary constituency to Union minister Smriti Irani in this general election, to ascertain the cause of his defeat.
New Delhi: Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi may have lost Lok Sabha elections, but he continues to remain very popular amongst the masses. The Congress leader on Friday attained 10 million followers on Twitter.
Speaking on the same, he said “10 Million Twitter followers - thank you to each and every one of you!” “I will celebrate the milestone in Amethi, where I will be meeting our Congress workers & supporters today.’
It is interesting to note that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Twitter handle has 48.5 million followers, which over 4 times more than Rahul’s.

During his visit, Gandhi will meet party representatives, including booth presidents of five assembly segments- Salon, Amethi, Gauriganj, Jagdishpur and Tiloi. Gandhi is likely to visit some villages too, party district spokesperson Anil Singh said. The Gandhi scion will meet party workers at Nirmala Devi Educational Institute in Gauriganj. In a historic poll battle, Irani defeated Gandhi in his bastion by more than 52,000 votes. Gandhi represented the Amethi Lok Sabha seat since 1999.
