Pulwama Terror Attack: NIA Files Chargesheet; Names JeM Chief Masood Azhar, His Brothers As Main Conspirators

NIA has filed a 13,500-page chargesheet in the 14th February, 2019 Pulwama terror attack case, naming JeM chief Masood Azhar and his brothers Rauf Asghar and Ammar Alvi as mastermind of the deadly attack.

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday filed a 13,500-page chargesheet in 14th February, 2019 Pulwama terror attack case in which 40 CRPF personnel were killed. ALSO READ | Masood Azhar designated as global terrorist after China lifts hold; here's how Pakistan reacted to UN's Move The central agency in its chargesheet has named a number of Pakistani nationals, including Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) chief Masood Azhar, his brothers Rauf Asghar and Ammar Alvi, nephew Umar Farooq, six arrested persons and several other commanders of the terror outfits for their alleged involvement in the Pulwama bombing incident. As per the several media reports, the 13,500-page chargesheet has been filed today at a special NIA court in Jammu after completing an investigation and analyzing irrefutable evidences, and the raodmap of planning and executing one of the deadliest terror attacks in Kashmir. The document reportedly mentions Azhar's video and audio recordings praising the deadly attack in Pulwama. Besides this, digital imprints include Telegram chats and call details of the terrorists. It was reported earlier that the NIA has so far arrested six persons for their alleged involvement in the 2019 terror attack which shook the entire nation. Earlier this year in February after an year of the terrifying attack, NIA had made the first big breakthrough is year-long probe. Later, a father-daughter duo - who had also provided shelter to the bomber were arrested. Last month, NIA arrested 25-year-old Mohd Iqbal Rather who had facilitated the movement of Mohammad Umar Farooq, the JeM terrorist and a key conspirator in this case, to south Kashmir after he infiltrated into the Indian territory in Jammu region in April, 2018, from the national highway near international border.
