Presidential Poll | ‘Politics Of Symbolism Not Acceptable’: Yashwant Sinha Takes Dig At NDA Candidate

Sinha said the Presidential poll is a battle between an ideology of absolute power and that of freedom, news agency Press Trust of India (PTI) reported.

New Delhi: Referring to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) fielding tribal candidate Draupadi Murmu for the Presidential poll, Opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha on Monday said politics of symbolism is not acceptable and he would showcase his track record to win votes.

Sinha said the Presidential poll is a battle between an ideology of absolute power and that of freedom, news agency Press Trust of India (PTI) reported.

Sinha, who had quit the BJP in 2018, also hit out at the current leadership in the party.

“The BJP I was part of had internal democracy, the current BJP lacks it,” he said.

Sinha, a former bureaucrat and a union minister during the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government, further said that he would try to reach out to his old BJP colleagues for support in the Presidential poll.
