PM Modi Shares 'Breathtaking Images' Of Gujarat Taken By ISRO Satellite. See Pics

ISRO on Saturday had successfully injected an Earth Observation Satellite (EOS) and eight other co-passenger satellites in multiple orbits, calling the mission "unique".

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday shared some "breathtaking" images of Gujarat taken by space agency ISRO’s recently launched EOS-06 satellite.

Sharing the images, PM Modi said the advances in space technology will help in better prediction of cyclones and also promote the coastal economy.

Taking to Twitter, he wrote, “Have you come across breathtaking images from the recently launched EOS-06 satellite? Sharing some beautiful images of Gujarat. These advances in the world of space technology will help us to better predict cyclones and promote our coastal economy too.”

Gujarat has a coastal length of 1,214 km and covers 16 coastal districts with a huge diversity of marine-based ecosystems.

It is to be noted that the Indian Space Research Organisation on Saturday had successfully injected an Earth Observation Satellite (EOS) and eight other co-passenger satellites in multiple orbits, calling the mission "unique".

The satellites were successfully launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre.

Notably, the EOS-06 satellite is an advanced third generation satellite that will study the biological parameters of oceans.

Its applications include identifying potential fishing zones, weather forecasting, wind velocity and cyclone detection, cyclone tracking and maritime security.

Meanwhile, speaking at a campaign rally at Sojitra town in Gujarat's Anand district on Friday, PM Modi accused the Congress of disowning Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and said it absorbed "slave mentality" after working with the British prior to Independence.

"The Congress has a problem not only with Sardar Patel, but also with the unity of India, because their politics is based on the policy of divide and rule while Patel believed in uniting everyone. Due to this stark difference, Congress never considered Sardar Patel as their own," news agency PTI quoted him as saying.

Notably, the first phase of Gujarat elections for 89 seats ended yesterday while the second phase of polling will take place on December 5.
