In the financial capital Mumbai, petrol prices touched Rs111.09 per litre, and diesel price increased 37 pasia to Rs 101.78 per litre.
New Delhi: Petrol and diesel prices witnessed a hike on Friday after a two day hiatus on the back of rising crude prices. Petrol prices in the national capital increased by 35 paise to Rs105.14 per litre while the price of diesel in Delhi is costing Rs 93.87 per litre, according to news agency ANI.
In the financial capital Mumbai, petrol prices raised by 34 paisa to touch Rs111.09 per litre, and diesel price raised 37 pasia to Rs 101.78 per litre. Petrol and diesel have been priced at Rs 105.76 and Rs 96.98 respectively in Kolkata and Rs 102.40 and Rs 98.26 in Chennai respectively.
Globally, Brent crude rose 0.58 per cent to $84.50 per barrel hitting a three-year high on Monday.

While petrol price in Bangalore is Rs 108.80 per litre and diesel at Rs 99.63 and a litre of petrol is sold at Rs 109.37 in Hyderabad while diesel is costing Rs 102.42 per litre. This makes up for the 14th price hike in petrol in two weeks while diesel rates have witnessed 17 times raise in three weeks. Prices differ from state to state depending on the incidence of local taxes.
State-run oil refiners such as Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum revise the fuel rates on a daily basis by considering the crude oil prices in the international markets along with the rupee-dollar exchange rates. The petrol and diesel prices come into effect from 6 am every day.
