Greater Noida: Another Video Of School Boy Attacked By Dog In Society Lift Emerges

Recently the Noida Authority issued new guidelines for pet owners that asks them to register their pets by January 31, 2023 or pay a fine.

In yet another incident of dog attack, a schoolboy was bitten by a canine at a Greater Noida housing society on Tuesday. 
The boy accompanied by his mother was going to school when they were joined by a man with his pet dog in the lift. A soon as they enter the lift the dog bites the boy on his hand before being subdued by the owner. The entire incident was recorded in the  CCTV camera installed inside the lift by the society.

The boy was soon taken to a medical facility and administered four injections.

Residents of La Residentia housing society in Uttar Pradesh's Greater Noida are extremely upset and fear that such incidents may happen in the future.

Recently the Noida Authority issued new guidelines for pet owners that asks them to register their pets by January 31, 2023 or pay a fine. According to the news rules, the pet owner will have to pay a fine of Rs 10,000 and bear the treatment expenses of the injured, reported PTI

Residents' Welfare Associations (RWAs), Apartment Owners Associations (AOAs) and village residents will be provided with some space by the Noida Authority to build a shelter for stray dogs and sick street dogs, the news agency reported.

"In Noida Authority's 207th board meeting, decisions were taken regarding the policy formulation of Noida Authority for stray/pet dogs/pet cats. The policy has been decided by the authority following the guidelines of the Animal Welfare Board of India for Noida region," the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Noida Authority, Ritu Maheshwari, said in a tweet.

"Sterilization/antirabies vaccination of pet dogs has been made mandatory. In case of violation (from March 1, 2023), provision for imposition of a fine of ₹ 2,000 per month," she added.
