'Rajnitik Garmi Badi Tezi Se...': PM Modi Ahead Of Parliament Winter Session After BJP's Poll Sweep

Parliament Winter Session: Referring to the results of recently held assembly polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that political heat in the country is increasing.

Parliament Winter Session: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said results in assembly elections were very encouraging and added that political heat is increasing in the country at a rapid rate. He said the results were good for those who are committed to the welfare of the common people of the country.

"...Rajnaitik garmi badi tezi se badh rahi hai. Yesterday, the results of the four-state elections came out. The results are very encouraging - encouraging for those who are committed to the welfare of the common people of the country and to the bright future of the country..." the PM said while addressing the press ahead of parliament's winter session.

BJP put on a stellar performance in the assembly elections held last month and won three of four for which counting was done on Sunday (Dec 3). The saffron party emerged victorious in Madhya Pradesh and wrested power fro Congress in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh with a significant margin on seats.

Urging for cooperation during the session, the PM said it would be beneficial for the opposition if they would give a message of positivity to the country.

"I have been urging for your (Opposition) cooperation in the House. Today, I also speak politically - it is beneficial for you too if you give a message of positivity to the country. It is not right for democracy if your image becomes that of hatred and negativity. Opposition is equally important for democracy, it should be equally capable," he said.

"...If I speak on the basis of the recent elections' results, this is a golden opportunity for our colleagues sitting in the Opposition. Instead of taking out your anger of defeat in this session, if you go ahead with positivity and learn from the defeat and leave behind the tendency of negativity of the last 9 years, the country will change their point of view for them..." PM Modi further added.

The winter session of parliament, commencing on Dec 4, will conclude on Dec 22.
