Ola charged this Mumbai man whopping Rs 149 crore for cancelled trip
NEW DELHI: Mumbai-based design consultant Sushil Narsian was caught in a loop on April 1 when he was charged Rs 149 crore for a '300m ride' by Ola cabs. He first thought it to be an 'April Fool' prank but later realised it was not so.
Narsian had booked an Ola cab from Mulund to Versova Market. Unable to locate his residence, the driver cancelled the trip before Narsian reached the cab. He tried to book another cab couldn't do so as now he apparently had an unpaid bill amounting to Rs 1,49,10,45,368.
The cab service also deducted Rs 127 from his wallet.
"For a ride that didn't come to location specified, driver did not takeppen the door, I'm charged and how! Jai ho @Olacabs. Riding Uber now," he tweeted.
The company informed him that it was a technical glitch. "Thanks for pointing out the glitch, Sushil. We've corrected the issue at our end. Here's a small token of our gratitude. Pls check your DM," Ola cabs replied. For a ride that didn't come to location specified, driver did not takeppen the door, I'm charged and how! Jai ho @Olacabs.
