Odisha hospital fire: SUM Hospital owner Manoj Nayak arrested

New Delhi: Manoj Nayak, trustee of Sikshya O Anusandhan Charitable Trust, has surrendered in connection with SUM Hospital fire that killed 21 people in Bhubaneswar, Orissa.

21 patients were killed and several injured after a major fire broke out at the Sum Hospital here on 17th October. "Deeply anguished by the loss of lives in the hospital fire in Odisha. The tragedy is mind-numbing. My thoughts are with bereaved families. Spoke to Minister JP Nadda and asked him to facilitate transfer of all those injured to AIIMS. Hope the injured recover quickly," said PM Narendra Modi. In the early hours of Thursday, Manoj Nayak surrendered before the police. Just a day before the police had issued look out circular against him. Commissioner of police of the state Y B Khurania confirmed about his surrender and subsequent arrest.
