No cancellation charge within 24 Hrs of booking flight: Ministry of Civil Aviation

Airlines will give compensation to passengers if a flight is cancelled or delayed.

NEW DELHI: Giving a major relief to airline passengers, Jayant Sinha on Tuesday announced that if a flight is cancelled & it is the airlines' fault, then the passenger has to be compensated. The Aviation minister also said that the airline company will have to provide compensation in various ways if a flight is delayed. Here, the Ministry of Aviation also released the first draft of the passengers’ charter, which tells the passenger about the rules for the cancellation fee, compensation for missing a connecting flight and WiFi on plane. In this charter, there is special provision for flyers with special needs and no charges if tickets cancelled within 24 hours of booking, provided the date of travel is 96 hours later.
