Navjot Singh Sidhu Is 'Rakhi Sawant Of Punjab Politics', AAP's Raghav Chadha Slams Congress Leader
The "Rakhi Sawant of Punjab politics" will soon go back to diss Captain Amarinder Singh, AAP MLA Raghav Chadha tweeted.
New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA and national spokesperson Raghav Chadha on Friday slammed Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu and called him "Rakhi Sawant of Punjab politics" after the latter issued a video criticising Arvind Kejriwal over farm reforms.
"Arvind Kejriwal ji, you notified the Private Mandi's central black law! Has it been de-notified or the masquerading is still going on?" Sidhu asked in a video posted on Twitter.
Responding to his questions, Chadha retweeted his post saying, "The Rakhi Sawant of Punjab politics -Navjot Singh Sidhu- has received a scolding from Congress high command for non-stop rant against Capt. Therefore today, for a change, he went after Arvind Kejriwal. Wait till tomorrow for he shall resume his diatribe against Capt with vehemence."
For quite some time, Sidhu has been raising the issue of farmers and had even written to Punjab CM seeking action on farmers' demanding cancellation of 'unfair' FIRs registered during their agitation.
AAP had slammed Sidhu's letter to Captain and termed it to be a 'stunt'.
Punjab is all set for Assembly elections in 2022 with Congress and AAP touted to be top contenders. AAP claims that the people of Punjab were upset over the non-fulfilment of promises made by the incumbent Congress government.
Criticizing the Congress government, Chadha had earlier said the Amarinder government had not fulfilled any of its promises in the last four years.
Meanwhile, Punjab is likely to witness a hung Assembly, with AAP emerging as the single largest party in the state in the 2022 state polls, as per the ABP-CVoter survey predicted earlier this month.
The ongoing power tussle between Sidhu and Amarinder Singh has created an opening for the AAP to rise as the main challenger.
Congress is projected to win a 28.8 per cent vote share in Punjab, AAP is projected to grab 35.1 per cent votes, SAD is projected to secure 21.8 per cent votes and BJP is projected to win 7.3 per cent vote share, the survey revealed.
