National-level teen diver found hanging at home near Kolkata

She had won two medals in the South Asian Aquatics Championships (SAAC).

KOLKATA:  A young national-level diver allegedly committed suicide at her home on Monday. The incident happened in Hooghly district, 50 km from Kolkata where Moupriya Mitra was found hanging from the ceiling.

The fifteen-year-old girl's body was sent to the hospital for an autopsy. No suicide note was found. As per reports, Moupriya Mitra, who was a student of Class 10, had won two medals in the South Asian Aquatics Championships (SAAC), 2016 held in Colombo. She had switched her career from gymnastics to swimming after her leg was fractured in an accident.
