Congress party senior leaders and workers staged protests at several places in the national capital on Monday against ED’s summon to Rahul Gandhi for interrogation.

New Delhi: Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay trained his gun against Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the Enforcement Directorate’s questioning of Rahul Gandhi in an alleged money laundering matter in connection with the National Herald case. 

Congress leader staged a protest ‘Satyagrah’ against ED’s move on Monday where Sahay said, “Modi will die Hitler's death if he follows his path.” "I feel he has even surpassed Hitler. Hitler had also created an organisation called 'Khaki' from within the army. If Modi follows Hitler's path, he will die like Hitler, remember this," he said.

Dubbing the saffron party's dispensation as a government of looters, Sahay said, "This is a government of looters. Modi is acting like a ringmaster and has adopted the role of a dictator."

The Congress, however, distanced itself from the statement made at the party's 'Satyagraha' protest at Jantar Mantar here against the Centre's Agnipath scheme, saying it does not endorse any indecent remarks against the prime minister, reported news agency PTI.

Earlier in the day, members of the Indian Youth Congress blocked railway tracks at Delhi’s Shivaji Bridge railway station while some party workers protested at Connaught Place. Senior Congress leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge, Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot & other Congress leaders and workers staged a sit-in protest at Jantar Mantar 

Congress Rahul Gandhi was summoned by the enforcement agency for a fourth round of questioning in connection with alleged money laundering in the National Herald case. 

Fresh summons were issued by the ED to Rahul Gandhi to join the investigation on Monday after the latter had requested to defer interrogation from June 17 to June 20 citing his mother and party’s interim president Sonia Gandhi’s health condition. 

Sonia Gandhi was admitted to Sir Gangaram Hospital on Sunday following Covid-related complications. The 75-year-old had tested positive on June 2, has also been summoned for questioning by the ED in connection with the case on June 23.
