Narendra Modi most popular among middle class, delivered on job creation: Survey

New Delhi: The favourability rating of Prime Minister Narendra Modi among India's middle class suggests that people are happy the way he has led the BJP government at the Centre. Through his policies and governance, Narendra Modi "still holds sway over members of his core constituency — the urban salaried, especially those living in India's seven biggest cities," ET-TNS survey states. Overall Ratings: According to the survey, "Narendra Modi led BP government has an overall approval rating of 86% on economic performance." On job creation:  62% say that the current government has fulfilled its promises. 58% of the respondents say that future will be better. Recently, the two institutions, University of Hyderabad and JNU, have been the centre of debate over the death of Rohith Vemula and sedition row, respectively. On JNU row: When asked about nationalism debate and sedition row: 46% of the respondents believe that it's Congress' fault, while 52% say that the NDA government has taken the right decision in the matter. Popularity: The survey also states that Narendra Modi is, by far, more popular leader than Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi. On a scale of one to 10, Modi scores of 7.68 out of 10, while Rahul gandhi gets a lowly 3.61. The survey was conducted in in India's seven biggest cities, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad
