Narendra Modi in Japan: Prime Minister Modi arrived in Japan on Saturday for his annual bilateral summit with Japanese PM Shinzo Abe. On the second leg of his visit today, PM Modi arrived at the Indian Community Event in Tokyo, Japan and addressed the people of Indian community there. Later he also met top business leaders from India and Japan at Business Leaders Forum. The same was followed by a series of meetings with Japanese Venture Capitalists, the Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Hiroshige Seko, Foreign Minister Taro Kono and the Secretary-General of the Liberal Democratic Party, Toshihiro Nikai. Key takeaways from his speech- > Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said — "India is going through a massive transformative phase today. The world is appreciating India for its services towards humanity. The policies being made in India, the work being done towards public welfare, for these the nation is being felicitated today." > PM further said that today India is making tremendous progress in field of digital infrastructure. "Broadband connectivity is reaching villages, over 100 Cr mobile phones are active in India,1 GB is cheaper than a small bottle of cold drink. This data is becoming the tool for service delivery," said PM Modi. > Hailing 'Make in India' programme Pm Modi said that it has emerged as global brand today. "We're manufacturing quality products not only for India but for the world. India is becoming a global hub, especially in field of electronics&automobile manufacturing. We're rapidly moving towards being no.1 in mobile phones manufacturing," PM said. > "Last year our scientists created record by launching over 100 satellites into space simultaneously. We sent Chandrayaan and Mangalyaan at very low expense. India is preparing to send Gaganyaan into space by '22. It'll be Indian in all ways and one travelling in it, will also be an Indian," PM Modi. > "We celebrate Sardar Patel's birth anniversary every yr but this time we'll grab attention of entire world. • Japanese venture capitalists met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Tokyo. • Prime Minister Narendra Modi also met Hiroshige Seko, Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry and Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono. • Nikai Toshihiro, Secretary-General, Liberal Democratic Party of Japan called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
