Nagaur, Rajasthan: Massive clashes erupt after gangster killed in shooutout, 1 killed & 20 injured
Rajasthan: Days after the police gunned down gangster Anandpal Singh in Nagaur area of Rajasthan, massive protests have erupted in the state against his killing by his family and Rajputs of the area.
The protesters have demanded a CBI probe into the killing of Anandpal Singh, stating that he has been killed in a ‘fake’ encounter.
Even on Wednesday, massive violence took place in Nagaur after the Rajputs took to streets raising their demands.
Gangster Anandpal Singh was killed in an encounter on June 24, but the custody of his body was yet to be given to his family, who have been polinting out fingers at the police and accusing them of killing him in a ‘fake; encounter. The family therefore sought a CBI probe must take place in the case.
Extending his support to the protesting Rajputrs, Congress leader Digvijaya Singh took to Twitter and condemned ‘violence’ by police on the protesters. “I oppose violence against Rajput brothers and sisters who are seeking a CBI probe” he said.
The Rajputs resorted to massive violence on Wednesday and torched several vehicles and attacked police officials. The clashes led to killing of an individual, whereas over 20 police officials.
