Mumbai: Three missing after boat carrying 8 people capsizes in Powai lake
New Delhi: Three out of eight people went missing after a boat capsized in Powai lake in Mumbai on Friday night.
The untoward incident took place at around 11.30 pm when a boat carrying eight people, reportedly natives of Ghatkopar area who had gone for party, rammed into something and overturned.
The rescue team was finding it difficult to carry out the search operation as it was dark. However, the search operation has resumed in the morning and is underway. One among the missing has been identified as 20-year-old Atif Khan who is a law student in Bandra’s Rizvi College. He is also the youth wing president of NCP. Atif’s uncle Rasul khan, 43, is also said to be missing. Third among them is Dinesh Bhoir, a resident of Dombivli.5 rescued and 3 missing after a boat capsized in a lake in Mumbai's Powai late last night.
