Mumbai Police Seize Mobile Phone Used For Threatening Ambani Family Through Telegram Channel
Police have recovered a mobile phone from Tihar jail which was used to create the Telegram channel threatening Ambani after an explosive-laden SUV was parked outside Antilia
A Scorpio, with 20 gelatin sticks inside, was found near Antilia, Ambani's high-rise residence in south Mumbai, on February 25. Police said the vehicle was stolen from Airoli-Mulund Bridge on February 18. Police have recovered the mobile phone from which was allegedly used to create the Telegram account and send threat posters to the Ambani.
Indian Mujahideen terrorist Tehseen Akhtar alias Monu is suspected to be using this phone and police suspect that he only created the Telegram channel.
Special cell recovered the phone during a search operation in Tihar. Indian Mujahideen militant Tehseen Akhtar is currently in Tihar Jail number eight. Tehsin Akhtar is accused of blasts in Hyderabad and Bodh Gaya. He has also been accused of being behind an attack on a rally by PM Narendra Modi last October that killed six people and wounded more than 80.
Telegram account activated from the same mobile
It has been revealed that the Telegram channel was activated by the mobile recovered from Tehsin. A virtual number was created on the darknet through the Tor browser, and then a threatening post was prepared for Ambani's house Antilia. The special cell will now interrogate Tehseen.
Phone location revealed with the help of the cyber agency
The officer said that the police, with the help of a private cyber agency, police have found out the location of the phone from which the telegram channel was made. According to police sources, the channel was launched on the Telegram app on February 26, and a message claiming responsibility for putting the vehicle outside Ambani's residence was posted on the app on the night of February 27. The message demanded payment in cryptocurrency and a link was also given in it. The officer said that during the investigation it was found that the link was not available, after which the investigating officers suspected that someone had committed mischief.
