Mulayam Singh Yadav Still Critical, On Life Saving Drugs, Says Medanta Hospital
Mulayam Singh Yadav is being treated at the hospital since August 22 and was transferred to the ICU on October 2 as his health began to worsen.
The condition of Mulayam Singh Yadav remains critical and the Samajwadi Party founder is being administered life-saving drugs, Medanta Hospital said in a bulletin on Thursday. Yadav is admitted in the Intensive Care Unit of Medanta Hospital in Gurugram.
The Samajwadi Party also tweeted the health update from its official account.
"Mulayam Singh Yadav ji's condiction is critical and he is still on life saving drugs. He is being treated in the ICU of Medanta hospital, Gurugram, by a comprehensive team of specialists," the hospital said in a health bulletin.
The 82-year-old former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh is being treated at the hospital since August 22 and was transferred to the ICU on October 2 as his health began to worsen. He had also been admitted to the facility in July.
On Wednesday, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar visited the hospital. When reporters asked him about the health condition of Yadav, he said, "There is some improvement. But we cannot say that he is out of the 'risk zone'. We will know more in a day or two."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav after Mulayam Yadav was shifted to the ICU and assured him of all possible support.
Earlier this week, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao reached out to Akhilesh Yadav to enquire about the health condition of his father. Last month, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar met Mulayam Singh Yadav at the Medanta hospital.
Mulayam's wife Sadhna Gupta passed away in July this year. She was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Gurugram for a lung infection.
Sadhana was Mulayam Singh Yadav's second wife. His first wife, Maalti Devi passed away in 2003. Maalti Devi was the mother of Akhilesh Yadav.
Yadav, one of Uttar Pradesh's most prominent leaders, has been the CM of the state for three terms. Yadav, a 10-time MLA and seven-time Lok Sabha MP, had also held the position of Defence Minister in the Union government.
