More shame for Bengaluru: Two scooter-borne men molest girl on street, shows video
New Delhi: More shame for Bengaluru comes after a horrifying video footage shows two scooter-borne men molesting a girl in Kammanahalli area here.
The footage shows two men on a scooter blocking a woman's path on the street after which one of them gets off and forces himself on her.
As the woman resists and slaps him, the molester takes her to the side of the road where his companion is sitting on the scooter.
Shockingly, many passerbys are seen to witness this shameful act but no one comes forward to the woman's rescue.
It is only as she continues to fight them off, that they finally unable to abduct her, throw her on the road and flee on the two-wheeler.
Police in Bengaluru has filed a First Information Report (FIR) against the two unidentified men for allegedly groping the young woman on New Year's Day, a police officer said on Wednesday. The FIR was filed against the accused under sections 341 (for wrongful restraint), 354A and 354B (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Bengaluru has already been facing a lot of backlash ever since several women were allegedly molested and heckled on New Year’s Eve by a mob of unruly men in the state. Picture: ABP News The incident happened on the night of December 31 at the city’s MG Road and Brigade road, where people converged in large numbers to welcome the arrival of 2017. Hooligans in the garb of revellers molested and passed lewd remarks on women on the streets forcing some of them to literally take off their stilettoes and walk for help, reported the Bangalore Mirror. All of this happened despite the 1,500 policemen were deployed in the area and ‘adequate’ security arrangements were made. Photos published by the newspaper and footage aired on channels show the women crying out for help and running towards cops for protection. Meanwhile, three days after the New Year eve revelry turned into a nightmare for several women who were allegedly molested at a large gathering in city’s downtown area, police on Tuesday claimed to have found “credible” evidence of molestation and have registered an FIR. Police had earlier said that no one had come forward to file a complaint about the incident.
