Mehbooba Mufti Claims Put 'Under House Arrest' Ahead Of Visit To Kashmiri Pandit Attacked Last Week

New Delhi: Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and leader of Kashmir People’s Democratic Party Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday said that she was put under house arrest as she wanted to visit the family of the Kashmiri Pandit who was attacked in Shopian.
Mufti took to Twitter to claim that the “government of India willfully spreads fake propaganda against Kashmiri mainstream and Muslims.
“Placed under house arrest today because I wanted to visit the family of the Kashmiri pandit attacked in Shopian. GOI wilfully spreads fake propaganda about Kashmiri mainstream & Muslims responsible for pandit exodus & doesn’t want this fake divisive narrative to be exposed,” she wrote.

According to a report by news agency IANS, the authorities said that Mufti was prevented from undertaking travel due to security reasons.
The Kashmiri Pandit Mufti was intended on meeting was injured on April 4 as militants opened fire at him in his shop in Shopian.
The victim, Bal Krishna alias Sonu is a medical store operator by profession who lives in Chotigam village. According to a report by the news agency PTI, he suffered injuri4es on his leg and arm and was rushed to the Army hospital.
He was later declared stable by the doctors. As per reports, Sonu did not leave Kashmir even during the Kashmiri Pandit exodus and has been living in Kashmir for the last 30 years.
