Mandsaur: 7-yr-old girl raped; CM Shivraj backs death penalty for accused
The angered women of the Muslim community have demanded capital punishment for the accused and have said that he won’t be given space for burial in the cremation ground.
New Delhi: In a barbaric act in Madhya Pradesh’s Mandsaur, a seven-year-old girl child was abducted and then raped by a man. The incident has sparked widespread tension in the city. In a strong condemnation of the incident CM has backed death penalty for the accused.
As per reports, the rapist attempted to slash the throat of the victim after raping her. Scars of assault and scratch marks have been found all over the body of the child. The rapist had left the girl in a half-death condition thinking that she was dead. She somehow escaped and reached Lakshman Darwaza, from where locals took her to hospital. Her condition is critical and she has been referred to Indore by the local doctors.
The accused named Imran alias Bhaiyyu has already been arrested by the police. The angered women of the Muslim community have demanded capital punishment for the accused and have said that he won’t be given space for burial in the cremation ground.
The incident took place on Tuesday evening when she was abducted on her way home from school. The rapists abducted her on the pretext of getting sweets for her.
CCTV footage helped the police to nab the accused. On being arrested by the police, the accused reportedly admitted that it was him who perpetrated the crime.
The outraged parents took to streets after the incident, staging widespread demonstration.
